Toby Bryant
At the heart of Mahi Carpentry is the belief that good work matters — and Toby Bryant embodies that principle in every project he takes on. With years of experience as a carpenter, Toby brings the same level of care, skill, and attention to detail to interior renovations as he does to outdoor living spaces.
Indoors, Toby has worked on a wide range of renovations, from structural updates to detailed finish work, always focused on creating spaces that are functional, well-crafted, and built to last. Outdoors, he specializes in summer spaces — decks, pergolas, and custom exterior projects designed to extend how homeowners live and use their space through the warmer months.
Toby is particularly drawn to historic properties, where thoughtful problem-solving and respect for original character are essential. He enjoys the challenge of blending old and new, working carefully within existing structures while helping homeowners bring modern ideas to life in a way that feels authentic to the home.
Born in New Zealand, Toby’s path has taken him across Canada. He has lived and worked in Halifax for the past five years, with previous experience in Montreal’s West End and Ottawa. This diverse background has shaped a practical, collaborative approach rooted in craftsmanship, communication, and pride in a job done right.
For Toby, mahi isn’t just work — it’s the commitment to doing things properly, building with intention, and delivering results homeowners can trust.
